Narrative & Storytelling
A large part of our mission at Dirtroad Organizing is to inspire audiences to participate in rural politics. We want to highlight the bravery, courage, hope, fears, and realities of progressive grassroots work in rural America.
Through a mix of online and traditional media, events, our short film Rural Runners, and face to face conversations, we have reached over 4,700 people across the country.
Rural Runners is a short documentary that follows Chloe and Canyon’s journey running for office and running mountain trails. The film has proven a catalyst for bringing people together and inspiring them to get involved – in voting, in organizing their communities, in state legislatures, in running as young people, in mobilizing to get the few hundred votes that can make a difference, and in committing to the long-distance work of change.
We offer film screenings as a tool to build community and inspire folks to take action locally.
